I shared in my recent article how this stroller obsession of mine began. I once had a mistake of buying a bulky, expensive and heavy travel system which I eventually regretted buying. That experience gave me an aversion to any baby item that are bulky and heavy. If you are a petite person like me, i guess, you have a better understanding of my situation. So, when I stumbled upon the Besrey Lightweight Baby Stroller (BR-C703S model), my heart skipped a beat. This cheap baby stroller is feature-rich and very stylish that it almost won me over.
Notable Features of the Besrey Lightweight Stroller
1. Stylish and Functional Design
I will be honest here. I am quite picky when it comes to stroller designs. And I know that you are too. We can spot a tacky-looking stroller from afar. Not that it’s bad, but we know there are other better choices. Personally, I believe that style has little to do with price. And that’s what I love about this stroller.
It’s high-landscape design (meaning it has a seat that is positioned high) and eye-catching canopy gives it a somewhat luxurious feel. There’s nothing about it that screams budget stroller. This gear is a perfect example that you don’t need to break the bank to look good.
The stroller also has a nice, stylish canopy that offers decent coverage from the heat of the sun. On top of it is a mesh peek-a-boo window that allows you to spy on your little one or your little one to check on you.
Looking closely, the Besrey Lightweight Stroller has a really nice fabric which comes in different colors: pink, grey, sky blue and my most favorite one is dark green. The bumper bar is also a nice touch and can be attached and removed according to your liking. I must say that the overall design looks absolutely charming.
2. Suitable from Newborn until 36 Months
The Besrey Lightweight is not a travel-system ready stroller but what’s great about it is that your newborn can use it even without the bassinet. Yes. You can use the stroller from day 1 until your baby is 36 months old or 33 lbs to be exact. I personally survived without a bassinet because I alternately used a carrier and a stroller on my baby.
Now, let’s talk about the seat. The Besrey Lightweight stroller has a soft, ergonomic seat that is spacious enough to accomodate your fast-growing baby. And we know that in order to grow, babies need to sleep a lot, that’s why I love that this has a fully-reclinable backrest to ensure that babies get to sleep comfortably. There is also a leg rest that you can lift up to provide leg support especially for small babies.
3. One-Handed Push
Very agile and very light, this stroller has dual wheels and can be pushed with very minimal effort. Anything that requires less energy is good news for a tired mom like me. LOL
The front wheels can also swivel making it glide on smooth surfaces. However, the rear, singular wheels are narrow and could be caught in between deep cracks. From what I know, this stroller has no suspensions, therefore it is not recommended to be used on rough surfaces.
It has a horizontal handlebar that is high enough to be pushed comfortably by tall people.
4. One-Handed Fold
I love its easy, one-handed fold. It’s very identical to the fold of my favorite stroller, the Uppababy Minu. To fold, just push the button on the handlebar, slide the slider across and push down the stroller to collapse. Unfolding is almost the same procedure, push the button on the handlebar, slide the slider and pull the handlebar up. What a neat feature!
5. It is Portable
The Besrey Lightweight Stroller’s compact fold makes it easy to carry around. It doesn’t come with a shoulder strap but you can lift it by the handlebar to carry. It weighs 15 lbs and has a folded size of 32 x 12 x 18 inches. It doesn’t fold small so I am not sure if this will fit inside the airplane overhead bin.

I really wanted this stroller but I realized that it can only be used until 36 months. My child is now 2.2 years old. Bummer. Too late to the party.
I wish I knew about this product earlier. Other than the weight limit, I have no problems buying this for us. So, is the Besrey Lightweight Stroller the best you can buy for less than $100? So far, I would say, yes.
